On Saturday, September 15th the Martin Clinic Healing House opened its doors to the community around Atlanta. We gave tours of the clinic. Everyone was happy to see the three organized provider rooms ready for our patients.
Also important to the clinic and its mission of integrative medicine were the rooms for herbal compresses, essential oil face cloths, and foot baths.
The infusion room where Humanizing Medicine gives Mistletoe Infusions for Cancer patients was a popular social spot!
We had wonderful live violin and cello music from our community that set the scene for the gathering of all our wonderful community members.
Dr. Mark Hancock gave a presentation about the mission of the Martin Clinic Healing House followed by an introduction to Anthroposophic (Humanized) Medicine that was well attended. There is a force in the human being that despite unhealthy things going on in and around us, nevertheless is a righting force that keeps us healthy. How can we support this force? That is Salutogenesis- that is where integrative medicine works. Dekalb County has nearly 20% of its population in poverty. We serve those at 200% and under the poverty level- so we have plenty to do!
We had delicious catered food at our open house helping all feel cozy and welcome.
Our Martin Clinic Shop was also investigated.
Thank you all who attended and signed up to volunteer!
